 Pro-Life Update:
February is Black History Month. We are fortunate to have the Diocesan Vicar for African Ancestry Ministry and Evangelization (AAMEN) as our Pastor at Sacred Heart. Padre Leon was appointed to the AAMEN position by Bishop Burbidge in August, 2011.
The diocesan AMEN office “family stands for the respect of human life from the moment of conception to natural death.”
This includes participating in and supporting the annual State and National March for Life, End of Life Care, Prison Ministry, Project Rachel, Project Gabriel, Social Justice Ministry and Food Pantry among many other programs.

"Catholic Perspective & Catholic Weekly"
For the week of February 5th, 2012:
Will feature an interview with Dr. Jacques Mistrot on a new document published by the Diocese of Raleigh on Church teaching regarding end-of-life issues. Dr. Mistrot is a member of the Diocesan Pro-Life Steering Committee, which helped formulate the document titled “Care and Compassion: A Catholic Declaration on Life and Death.”
